Men’s Tennis Opens Play At Rocket Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team opened up the Rocket Invitational with two rounds of doubles and singles Friday, with Raul Teichmann picking up a singles win and doubles win on the day.

Teichmann earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Detroit Mercy's Adam Zychowicz, while his doubles win came with Luke Phillips when they teamed up for a 6-4, 6-2 victory over a Youngstown State tandem.

Clark Bilinovich also picked up a singles win against Detroit Mercy Friday, earning a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Alvaro Arce.

This marked the first collegiate action for Teichmann and Bilinovich.

The final Cleveland State singles win came from Benjamin Slade, as he earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory over YSU's Joao Garretto. The win marked Slade's 61st of his career, and moved him into sole possession of ninth place on the CSU Singles Wins List.

Action at the Rocket Invitational will continue tomorrow (Saturday, September 29) with singles and doubles action beginning at 10:00 a.m.
