From The Sidelines
"Michigan played a good match today, it's always hard going against a team playing on their home court in the NCAA Tournament, and I thought we came out and gave it all we had from start to finish. We came out with the mentality of playing to win and not just participating, and I thought the guys stayed true to that throughout the match and battled hard until the final point of the match. We got down quick in doubles which didn't help us, but our No. 3 doubles team was holding their own before their match got suspended. In singles, we charged out to a quick start on a lot of the courts, and there was a moment where I thought we were doing a great job of clawing our way back into the match, but Michigan was able to take control of the big moments which kept them out of danger. Overall this was a great season for us, and a tremendous step forward from last year in terms of playing level and team cohesion. Despite the sting of today's loss, everyone is excited to play together again next year, and we will certainly miss our lone senior, Mirko." – Head coach Brian Etzkin
