Etzkin Announces Addition Of Jack Santilli To The Men’s Tennis Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State men's tennis head coach Brian Etzkin has announced the addition of another student-athlete to his roster for the upcoming 2016-17 season, as Kansas native Jack Santilli (Westwood, Kansas) is set to join the Vikings this fall.

Santilli comes to Cleveland State as a freshman, with four years of eligibility remaining.

"Jack will be a great addition to the team, he has a great competitive attitude which will enable him to handle the rigors of being a Division I student-athlete," Etzkin said. "Jack will be another piece to the puzzle as we strive to be one of the top teams in the Horizon League and work towards winning more league championships. I can't wait for him to be here in the Green and White."

Santilli, who played his high school tennis for Shawnee Mission East High School, is the No. 1 ranked player in his class in the state of Kansas according to TennisRecruiting.net, while also being the No. 8 ranked player in the Plains.

Throughout his four-year high school career, Santilli posted an 85-15 combined singles and doubles record, and was the Kansas 6A Regional and State doubles champion at No. 1 doubles as a freshman. Santilli was also a singles finalist at the Kansas State Championship as a sophomore, junior, and senior.

Santilli joins Nico Mostardi (Cleveland, Ohio), who joined the Vikings during the fall signing period, to complete the incoming freshman class for the 2016-17 season.
