Vikings Close Out Regular Season Against Baldwin Wallace On Tuesday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will close out the regular season portion of its schedule on Tuesday (April 26), hosting Baldwin Wallace at 7:00 p.m. in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. 

This will be Cleveland State's final tune-up before the Horizon League Tournament, as the Vikings will begin their quest for their sixth tournament title on Friday, April 29.

Entering Tuesday's contest the Vikings stand at 12-11 overall this season, including a 10-7 mark against non-league opponents.

Freshman Benjamin Slade has a team-best 20-14 overall singles record, while sophomore Mirko Radosevic stands at 17-16 overall this year. Slade notched his 20th victory at UIC last weekend, becoming the sixth Viking to post a 20-win season during their rookie campaign.

Senior Joe VanMeter also picked up a singles against the Flames, notching his 72nd career victory with a win at No.2 singles, taking over sole possession of sixth place on the CSU Singles Wins list.

In doubles, the Vikings have been led by the duo of VanMeter and Andre Mick, who have posted a 12-7 record on the year, including a 9-6 mark at No. 1 doubles this spring.

Baldwin Wallace, an NCAA Division III member, enters Tuesday's contest with a 22-2 record this season. Last time out the Yellow Jackets had their 11-match winstreak snapped, as they dropped a 6-3 contest against John Carroll.
