Radosevic Named Horizon League Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State men's tennis team to a pair of victories last weekend, sophomore Mirko Radosevic has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This is the first weekly honor for Radosevic, and the second weekly accolade for the Vikings this season.

Last weekend Radosevic and the Vikings picked up wins against Butler (5-2) and Ball State (6-1), improving to 8-4 this spring.

"This is a well deserved honor for Mirko this week. He won two three-setters last weekend – both after losing the first set. His second set comebacks were huge momentum lifts to the team en route to two wins against quality teams in Butler and Ball State," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Mirko's game is moving in the right direction and he continues to improve, and I'm excited to see what he can accomplish throughout the remainder of the spring season."

Over the two matches Radosevic went 2-0 at No. 3 singles and 2-0 at No. 3 doubles with teammate Benjamin Slade. Against Butler, Radosevic picked up a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory, while he notched a 6-7 (3), 6-2, 6-4 singles win against Ball State.

In doubles action, Radosevic and Slade posted a 7-5 win against the Bulldogs and a 6-1 win against the Cardinals.

For the season, Radosevic stands at 13-9 in singles play and has spent time at all three spots in the top half of the singles lineup this spring.

Cleveland State will continue its spring season on Friday (March 4), hosting Western Michigan and Marietta in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. Action will take place at Paramount Tennis Club in Westlake, Ohio.
