2005-06 - Junior Season
Staked claim as Horizon League's best swimmer, winning the
league's Swim Athlete of the Year Award and was named the
outstanding swimmer of the meet after winning four events at the
league championships...set school records in the 200 free (1:39.15)
and 500 free (4:24.65)...time in the 500 free was also a meet
record at the league championships...set meet record with a first
place finish in the 1,000 free (9:17.93) at the league
championships...swam anchor leg of school and league meet
record-setting 800 free relay team (6:41.87)...won the 1,650 free
(15:38.81) at league championships...held four individual team top
times and was part of two top-time relay teams...posted season-best
time in 100 free (47.60) at the Cleveland City Meet
(11/15).2004-05 - Sophomore Season
Recorded top team times in the 1,000 free (9:23.10) and 1,650
free (15:53.61) while posting the second-best marks in the 200 free
(1:41.60), 500 free (4:33.59) and 400 IM (4:09.62)...finished
second in the 1,000 and 1,650 free at the conference meet to claim
second team All-Conference accolades in addition to a third-place
mark in the 500 free...had runner-up finish at the league meet as
member of 800 free relay...earned team Outstanding Newcomer and
High Point awards.
High School
Was a national finalist in the 1,500 free...regional medalist in
the 200 fly and 400, 800 and 1,500 free...attended Lund University
before coming to Cleveland State.
Personal
Born Dec. 29, 1983...son of Lars and Gun Schantz...a marketing major...named to Dean's List...earned CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence Award in 2005.
