Cleveland State Swimming & Diving Honor Seniors Against Oakland

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State swimming and diving teams put up a strong performance against Oakland on Senior Day Friday afternoon. The women fell 193-105 and the men lost 195-99.

The Vikings honored six on the men's side; Quinn DeGraaf, Blake Fry, Reno James, Thomas Lundin, Jake Taulbee, and Kenny Thomas.

"Tonight was a special way to say thank you to our seniors," said coach Burandt. "They have truly made this program better and the success we had tonight is because of the work they've put in the past four years. I truly feel like we won tonight: we competed with heart, we executed at a high level, and we performed in ways that gave us great confidence and excitement for the Horizon League championship!"

Today's meet was the final tune-up for the 2024 Horizon League Championships which are from Feb. 14 through Feb. 17 in Indianapolis at IUPUI.

Men's Victories
James Wolf won 3m diving with 314.93 points and Xander Austin was second with 297.15 points. The duo flipped spots in 1m with Austin (304.80 points) and Wolf (284.55 points).

Thomas Lundin won the 200-yard butterfly after finishing in 1:49.91.
