The Starting Block
Cleveland State gets back in the pool for the first time in nearly a month as they compete against a pair of Horizon League teams at the site of the #HLSD Championships.

Last Time Out
The Vikings started the year with a 183-115 loss at Miami (OH) in its season opener on September 30. CSU won three individual races on the afternoon: Jackson Nester (1000 Free), Paddy Johnston (100 Back), and Josh Merchbaker (50 Free).

About IUPUI
IUPUI, coming off a runner-up finish at last year's Horizon League Championships, is off to a 5-0 start in dual meets. The Jags are coming off the Indiana Intercollegiate, where they placed second with 523.5 points. The reigning Horizon League Swim and Dive Athlete of the Year, Logan Kelly, was named the #HLSD Swimmer of the Week this past week. They also return the Horizon League Freshman of the Year, Sebastian Otero.

Series With IUPUI
This will be the fifth meeting all-time with the Vikings holding a 3-1 edge since 2018. These two teams last met in 2019 in Indianapolis, splitting the two days with IUPUI winning day one, 137-127, and the Green and White taking day two, 126-116.

About Milwaukee
The Panthers will compete in their first dual meet on Friday at home against UIC before heading over to Indianapolis on Saturday. UWM opened its season at the Wisconsin Showcase, winning six events in the pool. Jay Jensen led the way by winning the 200 freestyle and 400 IM. Adam St. John claimed both diving events.

Series With Milwaukee
These schools have met just once in 2019 with Cleveland State coming out on top, 171-129.

Nester Looking for Three
Junior, Jackson Nester will look to win his third straight 400-yard IM HL championship after the junior put up a school record with an NCAA B-cut time of 3:48.34 last season.

About the Vikes
Hannah Burandt is entering her fifth season as the head coach, Chalmers McGillivray is in second as the diving coach, and Trent Richardson is in his first as the assistant swim coach. The Green and White returned 14 athletes while welcoming nine freshmen to the team.

Preseason Rankings
Cleveland State was picked to finish third in the Horizon League preseason poll.

On the Horizon
The Green and White will spend the entire month of November at home, starting with a dual against Youngstown State on Saturday, November 4 at 11 a.m.
