Cleveland State Swimming & Diving Learns Horizon League Preseason Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Horizon League announced the men's and women's swimming and diving preseason polls on Thursday with the men selected third and the women fifth.

Oakland was the unanimous favorite on the women's side, with all six first-place votes for 36 points. IUPUI was second with 29 points, and Milwaukee was third with 25 points. The Vikings were in the fifth slot with 12 points.

IUPUI was picked to win the men's side with three first-place votes for 33 points, narrowly topping reigning Horizon League Champions Oakland, who received three first-place votes for 32 points. The Green and White were third with 23 points.

The Vikings are coming off a season in which the men finished third and the women fifth.

Jackson Nester will look to win his third straight 400-yard IM championship after the junior put up a school record with an NCAA B-cut time of 3:48.34 last season.

Cleveland State opens the season on Saturday, September 30 at Miami (OH) with a start time of 2 p.m.
