Cleveland State Swimming & Diving Coaches Attend the MISCA Convention

The Cleveland State University swimming & diving staff attended the 62nd Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Clinic over the weekend.

Coach Burandt was joined on the panel by Michael McHugh (Dexter HS), Steven Bowyer (Holland West Ottawa HS), Mojo Murrett (Ann Arbor Skyline HS), and Mitch Alters (Oakland University). The topic Burandt spoke on was tapering for the 100 to the 1000.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to speak at the MISCA coaching clinic," said head coach Hannah Burandt. This was the first time I had ever been a speaker at a clinic, and I achieved a milestone in my life by participating. This meant more to me than I can express. I've always loved attending clinics and have always admired speakers. I truly wanted to provide meaningful information and not be that coach who just "scratches" the surface. To be able to speak on tapering for the 100 to the mile and have my entire staff there was special."

Former Viking swimmer Spencer Tussing had a chance to speak with Coach Burandt about how her training helped him during his time as an athlete.

Chalmers McGillivray also had a chance to speak at the breakout diving sessions.

Burandt concluded, "For our staff to experience this clinic together to learn from Todd Larkin and Stefanie Kerska was awesome."
