Cleveland State is hosting its inaugural diving camps in August. Each camp will be set up with a limited number of spots for divers aged 7-18 to keep the sessions small and focused.

Campers will get training from Cleveland State dive coach Chalmers McGillivray and Lan (Nancy) Yang.

McGillivray is entering his second season as the Dive Coach at Cleveland State University. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at various Michigan High Schools overseeing diving programs. His stints included Ypsilanti Public Schools, Brother Rice HS, Detroit Country Day HS, Birmingham Public Schools, and Troy School District.

McGillivray was twice named the Michigan High School Diving Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2021. He coached four All-Americans, four state champions, and was part of seven state championship teams at Seaholm High School.

Lan was a highly successful diver for China competing on the international stage in various competitions. Her most notable achievements were the 1999 FINA World Champion in 3-meter synchro and the Bronze medalist in 1-meter for China.

The dive camps will utilize the Busbey Natatorium which has been the venue for numerous large NCAA events and home of the Vikings.

***A member institution's sports camp or clinic shall be open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, and or gender).
