Cleveland State Swimming Welcomes Vittorio Cappabianca

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State University swimming & diving coach Hannah Burandt announced the seventh addition for the class of 2023, Vittorio Cappabianca.

Cappabianca is from Hudson, Ohio, and swam at Hudson High School. Cappabianca was a four-time State qualifier and finalist, four-time District Champion, and four-time First Team All-Conference honoree. In addition, he was twice named team MVP and was the Rookie of the Year award winner. Lastly, he was a ten-time All-Ohio honoree.

"I chose Cleveland State because of the sense of unity surrounding the swim team when I visited. I also liked the variety of coursework the film school offered."

Outside the pool, he was on the Distinguished Honor Roll for ten quarters and Merit Honor Roll for six quarters. Also, Cappabianca graduated Cum Laude.

Cappabianca swam for Hudson Explorers Aquatic Team, where he holds the national record in the mixed 400 medley relay. He served as the Lake Erie Club rep for two years, was a nine-time Lake Erie IMX Champion, a six-time Central Zone Championship qualifier, and selected to represent team Ohio on multiple occasions.
