CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State University swimming & diving coach Hannah Burandt announced the fifth addition for the class of 2023, Zach Barnes.

Barnes is from Worthington, Ohio, and swam at Thomas Worthington High School. Barnes was named All-Ohio and First Team All-OCC.

"I chose Cleveland State because I really liked the team and felt like the University was the best fit for me."

Outside the pool, Barnes was an eight-time Scholar-Athlete and part of the Spanish honors society. He also received the silver key.

Barnes swam for the Worthington Swim Club where he was a sectional and future qualifier.

Barnes plans to major in finance and accounting when he enrolls this fall. He is the son of Denise and Jeff Barnes.
