INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Vikings completed the first night of the Horizon League Championships with a pair of season-best times along with a program record.

"This was the best start to the conference championships since I've become head coach," said Hannah Burandt. "I'm so proud of our team and can't wait for the morning!"

Cleveland State opened the championships with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as Kenny Thomas, Griffin Manning, Paddy Johnston, and Josh Merchbaker registered the second-fastest time in program history, 1:26.81.

The Vikings ended the evening with a bang as Nathen Eberhardt, Connor Green, Jackson Nester, and Spencer Tussing put up a program record time in the 800-yard freestyle relay, finishing in second with a time of 6:31.27.
