Cleveland State Swimming & Diving Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Accolades

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the spring semester from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the CSCAA announced on Monday.

The Viking women posted a team GPA of 3.69 in the spring to gain accolades while the men put up a team GPA of 3.56.

Head Coach Hannah Burandt said, "I am beyond proud of our #OneTeamOneFamily academic success! This is no small accomplishment for any student-athlete coming out of the pandemic and all the adjustments. This year's accomplishments become next year's standards."

In total, 731 teams from 441 institutions garnered Scholar All-America Team laurels for the Spring 2022 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring 2022 grade point averages and represented 17,845 student-athletes.

CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany had this to say about Cleveland State, "Coach Burandt has clearly set a standard of success for these swimmers and divers."

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
