Cleveland State Swimming & Diving to Conclude Regular Season This Weekend

Setting the Scene
Cleveland State will swim their final two meets before the postseason, beginning on Friday at the Busbey Natatorium against Oakland with a start time of 4 p.m. The Vikings will then hit the road on Saturday with the men heading to Ohio State and the women going to Athens to face Ohio and Bowling Green. Both of Saturday's meets will start at 12 p.m.

Thank You, Seniors
The Vikings will honor their 12 seniors during the final break of Friday's dual. Cleveland State will recognize two women; Agnes Bahr and Emily Deitz and ten men; Timothy Kubacki, Dominik Niedzialek, Trevor Mahoney, Jacob Cole, Daniel Frederick, Austin Harper, Jack Krusinski, Bob Lenart, Griffin Manning, CJ Levand.

Last Outing's for the Men
The men went 2-1 this past week, falling to UIndy on Friday, 169-129, before bouncing back to sweep the dual on Saturday against Denison (180-118) and Gannon (236-63). Kubacki won a combined five events while Bob Fick and Jackson Nester had two wins apiece.

Last Outing's for the Women
The women went 1-2 this past week, falling to UIndy on Friday, 216-69, before splitting on Saturday, beating Gannon (165-122), and falling to Denison (217-78). Rachel Contich, Grace Butcher, Kellsie Krisch, and Deitz each won a race.

About Oakland
Oakland men's and women's teams were projected to win the Horizon League in the annual Horizon League preseason poll. The Golden Grizzlies combined for 13 out of 14 first-place votes in the poll voted on by the league's head coaches. The women's team totaled 49 points, with all seven coaches picking OU to win the conference, while the men finished with 48 points and six first-place votes.

About the Ohio State Men
The Buckeyes last competed at the Tim Welsh Classic on Jan. 21 and 22nd, defeating Notre Dame.  Hunter Armstrong and Alex Quach led the Buckeyes with five event wins on the weekend. Both were members of the 200, 400, and 800 freestyle relay wins while Quach swept the butterfly events and Hunter Armstrong won the 100 freestyle and backstroke.

About the Bowling Green and Ohio Women
The Bobcats come into the meet with a 2-3 dual record and last competed against Akron on January 14, falling 241-101. The Vikings saw Ohio earlier this season at the Magnus Cup, where OU placed second overall. The Falcons enter with a 1-2 dual mark, winning their last dual on January 22 against Toledo, 172-128.

Cleveland State will now rest up for the Horizon League Championships which runs from Feb. 16-19 at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
