Setting the Scene
Cleveland State kicks off a busy November with a three-team dual tomorrow against Oberlin and Findlay at 4 p.m. inside the Busbey Natatorium.

Get to Know the Oberlin Yeo
 Oberlin opened their season on Oct. 23 against Mount Union with the women winning, 190-97 and the men falling, 197-77.

Get to Know the Findlay Oilers
The University of Findlay men's team is receiving votes in the CSCAA Preseason poll and is coming off a 120-117 victory over No. 20 Saginaw Valley State on Saturday, Oct. 23. The women were narrowly defeated on the day, 128-113.

The Last Time Out
 The Viking men went 1-1 last week, defeating Youngstown State in their home opener, 210-88. The women also competed in a pair of duals but fell in both of them.

Previous Meet Winners

  • Jack Krusinski in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.45) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.22)
  • Bob Fick in the 200-yard butterfly (1:50.93) and 100-yard butterfly (49.67).
  • Paddy Johnston in the 100-yard freestyle (45.58).

Preseason Poll
 The men were selected to finish second, while the women were picked fifth in the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Preseason Poll, as voted upon by league head coaches. The men received 42 points with a first-place vote, and the women garnered 26 points. Oakland was picked atop both polls.

Horizon League Champion Returners

  • Bob Fick won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:46.39.
  • Timothy Kubacki won the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:49.80.


Olympic Trials
 Cleveland State had a pair of athletes swim in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Nebraska this summer. Griffin Manning swam the 100 LC meter breaststroke, while Jackson Nester took part in the 200 LC meter backstroke.

Head Coach Hannah Burandt
 Coach Burandt enters her third season as the head men's and women's swimming & diving coach. She has guided the men to three straight runner-up finishes and three top-five finishes on the women's side. Burandt has coached 14 All-Conference swimmers.
