Cleveland State Men's Swimming Completes Day One at Notre Dame

South Bend, Ind. – The Cleveland State men returned to the pool for day one of the two-day dual meet at the University of Notre Dame on Friday evening.

STANDINGS

  • Pitt (114), Cleveland State (52)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Paddy Johnston, Nathen Eberhardt, Kenny Thomas, and Jack Krusinski kicked off the meet with a fourth-place finish, clocking a 1:23.36.
  • Bob Fick came in a three-way tie for second in the 100-yard butterfly, touching in 49.06.
  • In the 200-yard backstroke, Timothy Kubacki placed third with a time of 1:48.75.
  • Krusinski placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 55.61.
  • Cleveland State capped off the night with a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay as Johnston, Kruisnski, Fick, and Eberhardt, finished in 3:21.50.

We have so much to be proud of today. We are re-learning how to execute a two-day travel meet but we had so much energy on the deck. The athletes put in so much effort in every race and dive. We are off to an amazing start and have so much to look forward to tomorrow.
