Krusinski Earns Weekly HL Honors Again

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore Jack Krusinski of the Cleveland State University men's swimming & diving team was named Nike Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

It's the third weekly honor of the season for Krusinski, who also earned the award Oct. 29 and Jan. 14.

Krusinski was one of the highest point-scorers for the Vikings as they competed in a pair of dual meets this past weekend.

Krusinski won events in both of the Vikings' duals as they traveled to Big Ten foe Michigan State and defending HL champion Oakland. He began the weekend by winning the 200 breaststroke at Michigan State (2:03.29) while also placing as the runner-up in the 100 breast (57.24). Krusinski won the 200 breaststroke for a second straight day in the dual against the Golden Grizzlies (2:02.68), finishing in first place by over four seconds, while also adding two more individual runner-up finishes in the 100 breaststroke (56.20) and 200 IM (1:52.86). He dropped time in both breaststroke events from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon, including dropping more than a full second in the 100.

Krusinski owns the top time in the league this season in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.52) and is among the top four in the league in both the 100 breast (55.48) and 400 IM (4:00.64).

Cleveland State has won the Men's Swimmer of the Week award from the league in every week that it has competed this season.

Cleveland State will close the regular season this weekend as it hosts Kenyon in a dual meet slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
