Sikatzki Claims Top-20 Finish in 100 Fly

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Senior Philipp Sikatzki of the Cleveland State University men's swimming team continued his participation in the 2017 NCAA Championships by earning a top-20 finish Friday morning inside IU Natatorium.

Sikatzki finished 20th in the 100 butterfly in 45.99 seconds. He was the only athlete to finish among the top 40 that does not hail from a school in a Power Five conference. It marked the fifth time of his career that he posted a sub-46 second time in this event.

The top four finishers in Friday's preliminary swim of the 100 fly all won gold medals at last year's Summer Olympics.

Sikatzki will conclude his collegiate career Saturday when he competes in the 100 freestyle, an event in which he broke the school record at the 2017 Horizon Leauge Championships.
