Cleveland State Men's Soccer Ties Wright State on Senior Night

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (3-8-5, 2-2-4) tied Wright State (3-8-5, 2-4-2) 1-1 on Saturday evening. Prior to the game, the Green and White recognized their nine seniors: Daniel Lacerda, Frederic Heitzer, Jaume Rubio, Julian Pellegrini, Daniel Tregansin, Kyle Folds, William Wagner, Niklas Nannt, and Josh Davis.

The opening half went scoreless, with Wright State holding an 8-2 edge in shots. The Raiders nailed the crossbar in the 23rd and 39th minutes.

The Raiders took advantage of a give-away in the back as Reece Allbaugh scored in the 58th minute to lead 1-0. Less than a minute later, Marko Rimac knotted the game off a through ball from Albert Portas.

Cleveland State had a chance to win the game in the 88th minute as Wright State was called for a penalty in the box. However, Danilo Bakoc's attempt went high over the bar.

Wright State held an 18-12 advantage in shots, while each team had five shots on frame. M. Rimac led the game with five shots, including three on target. Omeed Naeemy made four saves on the evening.

The Vikings wrap up the regular season on Wednesday afternoon at Robert Morris with a kickoff time of 2 p.m.
