Cleveland State Men's Soccer Draws With Milwaukee on Alumni Night

CLEVELAND, Ohio – On a rainy and cold night in downtown Cleveland, the Vikings (3-7-3, 2-2-2) drew with Milwaukee (4-6-3, 2-3-1) 1-1. At halftime of the game, the Green and White recognized 13 alumni who came back for the festivities.

The opening half went scoreless, with the Panthers holding a 4-2 edge in shots while each team put a shot on frame.

Cleveland State struck just five minutes into the new half as Pablo Kawecki volleyed home a diagonal cross from Albert Portas.

Milwaukee nearly equalized in the 54th minute as Colin Alba's shot from just inside the box went off the crossbar and cleared out of play.

The Panthers went a man-down for the final 30 minutes due to a red card and pulled even in the 83rd minute on a Vikings own goal.

The Vikings held an 11-7 edge in shots and each team attempted four corners on the evening.

Kawecki led the game with five shots including three on frame. A. Portas was close behind with three shots. Omeed Naeemy made two saves on the night.

Cleveland State hits the road for two straight games, starting with Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
