Cleveland State Men's Soccer Falls to No. 3 Akron

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (3-7-2) was handed a 3-0 defeat by No. 3 Akron (9-0-4) on Tuesday evening.

The opening half went scoreless, with the Zips holding a 6-2 advantage in the shot count.

Akron tallied the first goal in the 65th minute as Jason Shokalook finished off a pair of passes from Will Jackson and Joel Sangwa. Three minutes later, Shokalook scored again, this time off a double assist from Stefan Dobrijevic and Dyson Clapier.

Shokalook completed the hat-trick and the 3-0 victory in the 73rd minute after finishing off a through ball from Dobrijevic.

The Vikings were outshot 18-4 in the game with four different players accounting for those shots.

Caleb Trowbridge and Anthony Calleri each had a shot on goal for the Green and White. Omeed Naeemy finished with eight saves in the contest.

Cleveland State returns to the field on Saturday as Milwaukee visits Krenzler Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
