Cleveland State Men's Soccer Draws With Wright State on Senior Night

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (9-3-4, 5-1-2) battled to a 2-2 draw with Wright State (4-6-5, 4-1-3) on Saturday evening, which was also Senior Night. Prior to the game, the Green and White recognized their nine seniors.

THE GAME
Wright State had the first scoring chance in the fifth minute with a point-blank shot but Omeed Naeemy came up with a huge save. The Vikings had a great look in the 12th minute as Bojan Kolevski's header off a corner was barely punched over the bar.

Cleveland State tallied two straight goals on penalty kicks by Albert Portas in the 24th and 39th minutes to lead 2-0. The Raiders got a goal back in the 42nd minute as Reece Allbaugh scored off a through ball from Cole Wrthmuller.

Wright State evened the game in the 59th minute as Joe Kouadio ripped a shot from the top of the box off a miss clearance. Neither team could find the back of the net during the remainder of the contest, ending in a 2-2 tie.

The Green and White held a 14-10 edge in shots and a 10-2 advantage in corners.  Jannis Schmidt and Kolevski each finished with a game-best four shots. Naeemy ended the night with two saves.
