Cleveland State Men's Soccer Garners Two All-Region Awards

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Jannis Schmidt and Bojan Kolevski earned spots on the United Coaches 2021 NCAA Division 1 Men's All-Region Teams. Both Schmidt and Kolevski were recognized with second-team honors.

Head Coach Sinisa Ubiparipovic said, "I am proud of Jannis and Bojan for being named to the All-Region team. They are both terrific players and deserve this recognition for the hard work that was put in this season. These two will continue to improve this offseason and look forward to next season and what they will bring to the team."

JANNIS SCHMIDT| SENIOR | SECOND TEAM | GENSINGEN, GERMANY
Schmidt earned a spot on the second team as a midfielder. This season, Schmidt became the third player in program history to be named the Horizon League Player of the Year. The senior was also named All-League for a second straight season. He started all 18 games, scoring six goals and adding a team-best 10 assists for 22 points. In addition, he tallied three game-winners and was named the Horizon League Player of the Week on a pair of occasions.

BOJAN KOLEVSKI | SOPHOMORE | SECOND TEAM | SKOPJE, NORTH MACEDONIA
Kolevski garnered a spot on the second team as a forward. This season, Kolevski became the first player to be named Offensive Player of the Year. This was the second consecutive season that Kolevski netted All-Horizon League honors. He started all 15 games that he played in, scoring a team-best 12 goals to go along with four assists for a team-best 28 points. On the year, he had one game-winner and was named Horizon League Player of the Week once.
