Cleveland State Men's Soccer Blanks UIC on Senior Night

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings picked up their third straight shutout with their 1-0 Senior Night victory over UIC on Krenzler Field.

Prior to the game, Cleveland State honored their five seniors; Thomas M'BarekAndrew NicholasStjepan Mijic-BarisicTommy Paltani, and Ivan Babic.

THE GAME
The leading Horizon League goal scorer, Bojan Kolevski netted the opening goal in the 38th minute off a through ball from Albert Portas.

Cleveland State took the 1-0 lead into the half, holding a commanding 9-1 shots advantage with five of those on frame.

The second half went scoreless with the Flames holding a 6-3 edge in shots. The Vikings wrap up their home regular-season portion of the schedule with a 6-1-0 overall record and 5-0-0 Horizon League mark.

Omeed Naeemy recorded his fourth shutout of the year after making just one save. Portas led the offense with three shots on the evening.

The Vikings will play their final non-conference game of the regular season on Tuesday evening, traveling to Akron at 7 p.m.
