Kawecki Scores the Game-Winner in Double Overtime as Cleveland State Men's Soccer Defeats RMU

Moon Township, Pa. – The Vikings upended Robert Morris 1-0 in double overtime on Wednesday afternoon. Pablo Kawecki scored the game-winner in the 104th minute as Cleveland State improved to 6-1 in Horizon League play.

THE GAME
Cleveland State and Robert Morris played to a scoreless first half with the Green and White holding a 5-4 edge in shots.

The second half followed suit with neither team scoring as the league game moved to overtime.

The first overtime period went scoreless with the Vikings holding a 2-1 shots advantage. Cleveland State got the game-winner by Kawecki in the 104th minute as he chipped the keeper from the middle of the box off a give-and-go from Jannis Schmidt and Bojan Kolevski.

Cleveland State held a 14-10 advantage in shots and a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. The Green and White also had an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.

Kawecki fired off a game-best four shots with two on target. Omeed Naeemy collected his second shutout of the year after making five saves.

The Vikings return to Krenzler Field on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. against Northern Kentucky.
