Cleveland State Men's Soccer Drops Home Opener to Bowling Green

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Bowling Green in their 2021 home opener on Friday evening. The Vikings will look to bounce back at home on Tuesday evening against St. Bonaventure.

The Game
Bowling Green got on the board first in the 15th minute as Alberto Anaya finished off a through ball from Sergi Martinez. The Falcons capitalized on a foul in the box in the 44th minute as Michael Montemurri converted the penalty kick for the 2-0 advantage.

The lone tally of the second half came just four minutes in as Sergi Martinez touched the ball home off a cross from Jensen Lukascko.

Jannis Schmidt and Bojan Kolevski had the lone shots for the Green and White. Omeed Naeemy made seven saves for Cleveland State.

Up Next
Cleveland State will welcome St. Bonaventure to Krenzler Field on Tuesday, Sept. 7 for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Vikings are 9-4-1 all-time against the Bonnies.
