Cleveland State Falls to UIC on Wednesday

CHICAGO, Illinois - The Cleveland State men's soccer team fell to UIC on Wednesday afternoon at Loves Park. The Vikings, now 4-5-0 on the season, have one game left in the regular season, which will be played on Monday, April 5 at 1 p.m.

With the loss, Cleveland State holds an all-time record of 21-18-4 against UIC.

THE GAME
The first half of Wednesday's matinee contest was even as neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes, with the score being 0-0 at the break.

The lone goal didn't come until 68 minutes into the match, as Flores Perez scored for UIC.

Cleveland State recorded 11 shots on the day and two corner kicks. Michael Neumann tallied four of the Vikings' 11 shots, including two shots on goal. Pabloe Kawecki added three shots, all on goal, while Jannis Schmidt recorded two shots and Tommy Paltani and Ivan Babic each added one shot.

Goalkeeper Omeed Naeemy finished the match with seven saves, one more than Sokratis Vasilas of UIC.

UIC committed 11 fouls, eight of those being in the second half, to only nine Cleveland State fouls.

This season, Cleveland State has lost each of its five contests by only one goal.
