THE OPENING KICK:
• Cleveland State has a single match in each of the final two weeks of the regular season, beginning this week as it hosts Oakland Saturday, Oct. 29.
• CSU is 6-7-0 all-time against the Golden Grizzlies, including a mark of 3-2-0 in home games. Oakland is the reigning League tournament champion.
• In last year's regular season meeting between these teams, CSU claimed a 4-3 victory in overtime. It is the only game the Vikings have played in the last seven seasons in which both teams scored at least three goals.
Sergio Manesio owns three career goals against Oakland, including the golden goal in the 4-3 win. Jake Lagania also scored twice in last year's win.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK:
• Cleveland State won its non-conference finale to begin last week, a convincing victory over Pittsburgh. The Vikings won 1-0 on the first goal of the season by Noah Pio. Sebastian Kalk registered his third consecutive shutout.
• CSU fell to league-leading Wright State this past weekend by a 2-0 scoreline despite shots on goal being even in the match.

FREE KICKS:
• Head coach Ali Kazemaini announced August 17 that he will step down at the end of this season, his 11th with the Vikings.
• Kazemaini owns 83 wins for CSU, the most in program history.
• CSU has been seeded fourth or better in the Horizon League Tournament in each of the past eight seasons, the longest active streak in the League.
• CSU is tied for fifth in the League table with two matches remaining.
• CSU can clinch a playoff berth Saturday with a win AND a Detroit tie or win. CSU can also clinch with a tie as long as Detroit wins.
Sergio Manesio was named a semifinalist for the Senior CLASS Award.
• Thirteen of Cleveland State's 16 goals this year have come in the second half. In fact, six of CSU's goals have come in the 78th minute or later.
• Cleveland State has been one of the most disciplined teams in the Horizon League in 2016. It has accrued the fewest yellow cards overall and committed the fewest fouls in Horizon League matches.
• A total of eight newcomers, five freshmen and three transfers, have competed for CSU this year. All eight have started at least once, and two (Vlad Jandric & Noah Pio) have played in each of the first 15 matches.
• Entering this week, freshman Sebastian Kalk leads the Horizon League in save percentage (.816) and goals against average (0.95). Kalk is 27th in Division I in save percentage.
• Cleveland State enters this week having allowed only 17 goals in its past 23 matches dating back to last season.
• Freshman Lawrence Karpeh scored his team-leading fourth goal against Green Bay. He is vying to become the first freshman to lead CSU in points since 2006. No Viking rookie has led the team outright in goals since 2005.
• Junior Jake Lagania has played a team-leading 1,215 minutes this season.
• CSU will honor its four seniors--Aleksandar Drobac, Dan Koniarczyk, Sergio Manesio and James Milli--prior to the match against Oakland.

UP NEXT:
• CSU will play its final match of the regular season next Friday, Nov. 4, at Milwaukee. Should CSU qualify for the League tournament, it begins Nov. 7.
