Vikings Fall to St. Francis 2-0 in Exhibition Match

LORETTO, Pa. -  The Cleveland State men's soccer team fell to Saint Francis 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Stokes Soccerplex in an exhibition match.

Saint Francis scored first only four minutes into the match when midfielder Nick Kolarac created space on the right side of the field, scoring in the left corner of the net.  Coach Kazemaini's troops then held strong definsively, allowing only that goal in the first half.  It was a defensive match for the first 45 minutes as CSU only managed to attempt three shots at the net and Saint Francis  only two shots. 

In the second half, the Vikings continued its tough defense, allowing only one shot on goal. Unfortunately it went into the net, at the 55 minute-mark when defender Ryan Byers scored from 15 feet away in the left corner. 

CSU's offense applied more pressure in the second half, attempting five shots on goal.  However, none of the shots found the net. 

Cleveland State's Mike Derezic and Gianluca Cuomo attempted two of the eight shots for CSU, but couldn't sneak a goal past Saint Francis' goalkeeper.

Cleveland State will open up the 2013 regular season where they will travel out west to play Oregon State on Friday, August 30 at 10:00 p.m. (est) and then stay in Oregon when they will meet Portland on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 4:00 p.m. (est).
