Cleveland State Lacrosse Earns USILA Team and Individual Academic Awards

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State lacrosse team has earned the Team Academic Award from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association for the third consecutive year. The award is presented annually to all teams finishing with a 3.0 team Grade Point Average or higher. Cleveland State finished the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.47 team GPA.

In addition, seniors Gavin Held and Charlie Williams were both named Scholar All-Americans. To qualify for the award, student-athletes are nominated by their respective coaches and must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. In addition, student-athletes must model good behavior both on and off the field and be an outstanding league or conference performer.

Held earned his bachelor's degree in health sciences in May, graduating with Cum Laude honors. This past season he appeared in all 17 games with 14 starts, registering 21 goals and 31 total points.

Williams earned his bachelor's degree in general business. Over five seasons in the green and white he appeared in 52 total games as a faceoff specialist. Williams finished his final year with 40 faceoff wins and 15 ground balls in 2024.
