Special Season For Cleveland State Lacrosse Comes to an End in ASun Semifinals

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Cleveland State lacrosse team saw its record-breaking season come to an end on Friday in the Semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, falling to top-seed Utah 21-5.

Cleveland State finishes the season with a 9-8 overall record, which establishes a new program best for wins in a season. Cleveland State appeared in the postseason for the first time in program history and earned its first-ever postseason win over Bellarmine in Tuesday's quarterfinal round. 

Utah jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. Amiri Austin tallied the lone goal for the Vikings in the first half, scoring at 4:55 in the second quarter. Utah led 13-1 at the break. 

Lane Miller, Gavin Held, Jacob Lubrant, and Matt Mehelic each tallied goals in the second half for CSU. 

Cleveland State won the faceoff battle, winning 16 to Utah's 14. Evan Moskwa tallied 10 faceoff wins. Connor Kernan had 13 saves in net for CSU.
