German Named ASUN Coach of the Year, Valli & Robinson Earn All-Conference Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. – After earning its first postseason spot in program history, the Cleveland State lacrosse team was honored with multiple awards from the conference, with Andy German, Griffin Valli, and Wyatt Robertson receiving postseason recognition. Alex Van Voorhis and Amiri Austin also brought in Academic All-Conference honors.

Valli was named to the All-Conference Second Team and was honored on the All-Freshman Team with Wyatt Robinson. Andy German was named the 2024 Coach of the Year.

Griffin Valli | Second Team | Freshman Team
Valli picked up second-team honors and all-freshman recognition after playing in all 15 games with 13 starts on defense. The Buffalo, Minnesota, native led the team in ground balls with 42. He picked up at least one ground ball in 14 games and had a season-best five at Ohio State. On seven occasions, he scooped up four ground balls. Valli also finished second on the team in caused turnovers with 12.

Wyatt Robertson | Freshman Team
Robertson picked up all-freshman honors after starting every game at attack for the Green and White. The Littleton, Colorado, native led the Vikings in scoring with 23 goals and was fifth in total points with 26. His 23 goals are tied for the third-most in a single season.

Andy German | Coach of the Year
German is in his fifth season as the head coach, earning his first coach of the year recognition. German led the Vikings to its first-ever postseason tournament and are currently tied for a program-best eight victories. This season, Cleveland State had a program-best four-game winning streak.

Alex Van Voorhis | Academic Team
Van Voorhis received academic honors for the first-time. The senior holds a 3.66 GPA and is a finance major. The Columbus, Ohio, native has been named to the Dean's List five times and to the President's List once.

Amiri Austin | Academic Team
Austin earned academic honors for the first-time. The senior carries a 3.73 GPA in health sciences, pre-physician assistant with minors in biology and psychology. The Acworth, Georgia, native has been named to the Dean's List six times and President's List once.

Defensive Player of the Year: Ryan Della Rocco, Jacksonville
Freshman of the Year: Turner Ashby, Air Force
