The Game
For the first and only time this season, Cleveland State will play back-to-back home games, beginning with Mercer tomorrow at noon.

Last Game Out
The Vikings dropped their second straight conference game at Air Force on Sunday, 12-9. Parker Yearego, Gavin Held, and Amiri Austin finished with two goals apiece, while Alex Van Voorhis was tops with two assists.

It's Nice to Not Travel This Week
Cleveland State has completed its long week of travel with a trip to Jacksonville on Wednesday and then Denver on Sunday. The total distance traveled was 3,296.64 miles through the air.

About Mercer
The Bears have lost three straight games, giving them a 2-7 overall record and a 1-3 mark in ASUN competition. In their most recent outing, Mercer fell on the road to Robert Morris, 15-7.

Chase Cope is tops on the team in goals with 16, while Michael Frederick and Dillon Bush are close behind with 10. Parker Junod, Taylor Dooley, and Frederick are tied for a team-best eight assists. Christopher Cappelmann is 103-of-206 in the faceoff circle with 60 ground balls. Colin Kelley has started every game in goal with 125 saves.

Series History
This will be the seventh meeting between these two teams, with Mercer holding a 4-2 advantage. Last season, the Green and White came out on top, 11-8. The Bears have won the previous two games in Cleveland, 11-9 in 2022 and 10-9 in overtime in 2018.

Protecting the Cage
Connor Kernan has 71 career saves, with 67 of those coming in his senior year, putting him in the fifth spot in the career saves category. The New Freedom, Pa., native had played in just three games during his first three seasons but has now played in six thus far this year.

Scooping-Up the Ball
Evan Moskwa has 149 career ground balls, placing him second in the career rankings. The senior is 116 ground balls shy of the top spot, which is held by Danny Tesler (2017-20).

The Faceoff Crew
Cleveland State's faceoff crew of Evan Moskwa, Charlie Williams, and Robbie Stewart hold the second through fourth spots in the all-time record book. Moskwa (272), Williams (155), and Stewart (88) are chasing Danny Tesler's mark of 478.

The Green and White were chosen to finish seventh for the second straight season in the preseason poll. Utah took the No. 1 spot after receiving nine first-place votes for 99 points. Jacksonville was second with 82 points and Air Force was third with a first-place vote and 80 points.

NEC in 2025
This will be the final season in the ASUN for Cleveland State before moving over to the NEC for the 2025 season. The Vikings will be one of five affiliated members of the seven-team NEC lacrosse conference, as the Green and White will be joined by fellow Horizon League members Detroit Mercy and Robert Morris. VMI and Mercyhurst make up the two other affiliated members, while the other teams in the conference include core members, Le Moyne, LIU, and Wagner.
