Cleveland State Lacrosse Receives Two USILA Scholar All-American Honors

The Cleveland State lacrosse team had two players receive USILA Scholar All-American honors as announced by the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Andrew Boniface graduated with a degree in information systems. Boniface held a 4.00 GPA in the spring and finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.69. Boniface was a two-year member of the team from Gates Mill, Ohio. In his time, he played in 25 games, scoring four goals and adding 13 assists for 17 points.

Ian McKissick graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Pre-physical therapy. McKissick had a 3.86 GPA in the spring and finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.64. McKissick was a four-year member of the Green and White, playing in 32 games with one start. The Petaluma, California native tallied 15 goals and seven assists for 22 points. He also added 16 ground balls and four caused turnovers.

In 1989 the USILA Scholar All-America program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. Each individual nominated is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Scholar All-America committee.

A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior-year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). He must have behaved in a manner that brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of the North/South All-Star team or an outstanding league or conference player.
