Cleveland State heads to Mercer on Saturday for their first of two consecutive ASUN road games as the Green and White battle the Bears at noon.

This will be the sixth battle between these two teams, with Mercer holding a 4-1 advantage all-time. Last season, the Vikings fell at home, 11-9, and have not won against the Bears since 2019 in Macon.

Mercer currently holds a 4-7 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference games. The Bears have won two straight games and are coming off a 9-8 victory against Robert Morris at home. In the last two games, Colin Kelley went 2-0 with 14 saves in goal to earn ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honors. Parker Junod leads the attack with 34 points on 22 goals and 12 assists. Ashton Wood is 155-of-250 in the faceoff circle with 76 ground balls.

Gannon Matthews and Xander Johnson are both tied for the team lead in goals 14. Matthews leads the way in assists (15) and points (29). Cameron Logan has accumulated 100 saves in goal and is tops in ground balls with 26.
ASUN Preseason Poll
Cleveland State was selected to finish seventh in the ASUN after receiving 38 points. Utah topped the poll with 92 points, Jacksonville was second with 90 points, and Robert Morris came in third with 85 points.
ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team
Gannon Matthews, a sophomore from Eagle, Idaho, was named to the preseason team as a midfielder.
