Opening Faceoff
The Vikings will play the middle game of their three-game road trip on Sunday with a noon start against Canisius.

About the Grifs
Canisius enters the game with a 1-4 record, dropping their last contest to Air Force on Monday in overtime, 9-8. This will be the first home game of the year for the Grifs. Colin Kelly paces the attack with 16 goals and three assists for 19 points. Jacob Buck and Keegan Kozack each have ten goals on the year. Johnny Richiusa has scooped up 26 ground balls and Kevin Eells has forced four turnovers. In goal, Matt Vavonesse has made 64 saves.

Last Game Out
Despite holding the top offense in the NCAA scoreless in the fourth quarter, Cleveland State fell to No. 17 Michigan, 13-5. This was the first game all season that the Vikings didn't score first and trailed during the opening quarter. Gannon Matthews scored two goals, raising his team-best total to seven. Cameron Logan made 17 saves, tying for third-most in a single game in program history.

Series History
These two teams have played each other three times with the Grifs holding a slim 2-1 edge in the series. The Vikings won the last meeting in Cleveland during the 2019 season, 19-10.

The Vikings were picked to finish sixth in their inaugural season in the ASUN. Air Force and Utah are the co-favorites to win the regular-season championship with Robert Morris picked third. Cleveland State has faced four of the five teams in the ASUN under German; Bellarmine: (2-1), Air Force (1-0), Robert Morris (0-1), and Utah (0-1).
