Viking Lacrosse to Host Community Day Game April 6

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University lacrosse program, along with the Lacrosse Communities Project – Cleveland, is hosting its second annual Community Day in conjunction with its April 6 home game.

The Community Day will see area youths receive a top-notch lacrosse experience from start to finish. The first 200 children in attendance will receive a free t-shirt. After cheering on Cleveland State as they take on St. Bonaventure, the children will have the opportunity to take part in a post-game clinic on the field along with an autograph session with the Viking players.

No registration is required for children wishing to attend the clinic or autograph session after the game.

Among those expected to attend are children that participated in the Lacrosse Academy run by CSU players and staff this past fall. Held at the Urban Community School in the Ohio City neighborhood, the Vikings held a once-a-week introductory class to teach the basics of the game of lacrosse from September to December this past year.

This unique youth experience is available for any child in eighth grade or younger. As a special promotion for Saturday's game, any tickets purchased with the promo code 'Community' will be available for just $5 (applies to both youth and adult tickets). To purchase tickets, please click here or call (216) 687-5440.

The CSU Division of University Engagement, led by Dr. Ronnie Dunn, is helping provide funds for the event while US Lacrosse and its North Coast chapter are also helping fund the event.

Cleveland State has three more home games remaining this season. In addition to the Community Day Game, the Vikings will host matchups April 13 (Noon) and April 24 (7:00 p.m.).
