VERONA, N.Y. - Playing in cold and rainy conditions, the Cleveland State men's golf team shot a final round 310 and moved up one spot to finish 10th of 14 teams at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday morning.

The two-day, 54-hole event was played at the par-72, 7,100 yard Turning Stone Resort (Kaluhyat Course).

"We battled today," head coach Steve Weir said. "The conditions were extremely difficult and drove up scores, but overall I thought we hung in there and competed. There were some positives to take away from the weekend and I'm looking forward to getting back out on the course next weekend."

After rounds of 307 and 291 on Sunday, the Vikings were able to climb past Mount St. Mary's today, who shot 324 in the final round.

Sophomore Andrew Bailey was CSU's top finisher, tying for 25th place at 224 (73-72-79), while junior Jon Riemer tied for 28th place, carding rounds of 74-70-81 to finish one shot behind Bailey (225).

Junior Michael Klaric had the Vikings best round today, firing a 74. He tied for 42nd place at 229 (80-75-74).

Baylor won the team title at 11-under-par (853) with rounds of 282-281-290.

CSU is back in action next Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 12-13) when the Vikings play in the Marshall Invitational.
