Cleveland State Men’s Golf Fourth after 36 Holes at Horizon League Championship

Howey in the Hills, FL-The Cleveland State men's golf team sits in fourth place in the team standings after two rounds of the Horizon League Championship tournament. The Vikings posted a 19-over 307 on day two and sit at 19-over par overall after posting a 307 in the second round. Windy conditions and a firmer, faster course produced difficult scoring conditions throughout the round.

Brody Simms is in the top ten in the individual standings and is 2-over par for the tournament. Simms carded a 5-over 77 in the second round. He was tied for the lead midway through the round after a birdie at the 18th hole. A triple bogey on the fourth hole dropped Simms back to 1-under, and he strung together three pars in his final five holes to stay inside the top ten. Simms is tied for sixth place, six shots back of Purdue Fort Wayne's Kasey Lilly who leads the field at 4-under par.

Andrew Kaye is close behind at 3-over for the championship after a 3-over 75 in round two. Kaye posted four birdies on the day, with two coming on each side. Mason Frazier is also 3-over after a 2-over 74 in the second round. Frazier carded the low round of the day for the Vikings on day two.

Dillon Pendergast is tied for 38th individually after a 10-over 82 on Sunday. Dominik Cosic is tied for 42nd after an 81. Pendergast is 12-over for the tournament and Cosic is 13-over.

Cleveland State will once again tee off in the afternoon wave in tomorrow's final round. The Vikings will start on the first tee with tee times beginning at noon. Live scoring is available on Golfstat throughout the tournament.
