Cleveland State Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season at Wexford Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, SC-The Cleveland State men's golf team is set to open its Spring 2024 season on Monday at the Wexford Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion University. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. 

The tournament will be contested on Wexford Plantation's Arnold Palmer Signature Course which will play to a par of 72 and measure 6,884 yards for the three-round event.

The Vikings are making a return trip to Hilton Head after finishing tied for 14th in last year's event. Cleveland State is one of 18 teams in the field which includes the likes of Appalachian State, East Carolina, Dayton, Richmond, Temple and Xavier among others. 

The tournament features a shotgun start with play beginning at 8:15 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Cleveland State will tee off on holes 7-9 to begin each of the first two rounds. Cleveland State student-athletes will be paired with competitors from Georgia State and Winthrop in the first two rounds.

Brody Simms, Andrew Kaye, Mason Frazier, Dillon Pendergast and Dominik Cosic comprise the five-man Viking lineup. Kaye recorded a T-37 finish in last year's event and Simms finished tied for 73rd.

Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the tournament.
