Cleveland State Golf Announces 2024 Spring Schedule

Cleveland, OH-Head Coach Steve Weir announced today the competition schedule for the Spring 2024 season for both the men's and women's golf teams. After a strong fall season for both programs, the teams will begin spring competition in February.

Both teams will compete in five spring tournaments, with a mixture of similar tournaments from last season as well as some new additions to the schedule, which will culminate with the Horizon League Championship tournament at Mission Inn Resort scheduled for April 20-22.

The men's team will compete first, starting once again at the Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, SC on February 19-20. Cleveland State finished tied for 14th at the Wexford a year ago. The Vikings will next head to Tennessee to compete in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech University scheduled for March 17-19.

Following the trip to Tennessee, the men will compete at the Butler Spring Invitational(April 1-2), The Jewell Invitational hosted by Northern Kentucky(April 6-7), and the Wright State Invitational(April 14-15) before heading to the league tournament.

The women's team starts its spring schedule with a new event, the Mission Inn Match Play Challenge on February 25. New this year, the Horizon League Championship will see both the men's and women's teams compete on the same golf course, with both teams teeing it up on Mission Inn's El Campeon course. The match play event will be contested on the same layout.

Following that event, the women's team will host the annual Nevel Meade Invitational at Nevel Meade Golf Club in Prospect, Kentucky scheduled for March 18-19. Following the Nevel Meade, the women will compete at NKU's The Julie(March 25-26), the Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic(April 1-2) and the IUPUI Lady Jaguar Invitational(April 13-14) before returning to Mission Inn for the league championship tournament.

Both teams are looking to improve upon top-five finishes at the league tournament from a year ago. The men placed fourth and the women finished third last April. Both teams return several key contributors from last year's squads.
