Westlake, OH-The Cleveland State men's golf team is set to host the third annual Tom Tontimonia Invitational at Lakewood Country Club in Westlake starting Monday morning. Cleveland State welcomes the largest field in the history of the event, with 15 teams set to compete in the 54-hole event.
Lakewood Country Club will play 7,059 yards for the event with a par of 71. The course is the only layout in the State of Ohio designed by famed architect A.W. Tillinghast. Tillinghast designs have played host to 51 national and international championships, including several major championships. LCC has also previously hosted a Korn Ferry Tour event. The Korn Ferry Tour serves as the developmental tour for players looking to qualify for PGA Tour membership.
The tournament is the third for the Vikings in the four-tournament fall 2023 schedule. Round one is set for a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. The 54-hole event will see two rounds played on Monday with the third and final round on Tuesday.
Six Vikings are scheduled to tee it up in the event. Andrew Kaye, Brody Simms, Mason Frazier, Dominik Cosic and Dillon Pendergast make up the lineup. Cosic, a freshman, will make his first start after competing as an individual in the first event of the season at Marshall. Ben Scheeff will compete as an individual in this week's event.
The Vikings will tee off on holes one through three in the opening round which will feature a shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the tournament. Spectators are welcome to attend.
