Cleveland State Men’s Golf Takes Fifth at NKU Jewell Invitational

Batavia, OH-The Cleveland State men's golf team finished fifth in the Jewell Invitational hosted by Northern Kentucky at Elks Run Golf Club. The Vikings finished at 15-over par for the three-round event. Host Northern Kentucky won the event with a 4-under total. 

Two Vikings finished the week with top-10 finishes, as Jack Hanus and David Laib each finished tied for 7th with even par totals. Laib had the low round of the day for the Vikings with a 2-under 69. He carded a 3-under 33 on the front nine with three birdies. Hanus closed with a 4-over 75. 

Alex Anderson finished in a tie for 36th place at 9-over for the tournament. Anderson capped his week with a 7-over par round of 78. 

Brody Simms finished in a tie for 48th place at 12-over par. Rounding out the Viking lineup, Andrew Kaye finished in a tie for 64th at 18-over. Mason Frazier, playing as an individual, finished tied for 57th at 15-over par. 

The Vikings will next compete at the Wright State Invitational, scheduled for Sunday and Monday April 16th and 17th in their final tune up before the Horizon League Championship at the end of the month.
