Cleveland State Men’s Golf Finishes 16th at ECU Intercollegiate

Greenville, NC-The Cleveland State men's golf team finished 16th in the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Country Club. The Vikings closed the tournament with a final round 22-over 310 as a team. This put CSU at a three-round total of 62-over par. 

Host East Carolina won the tournament with an 18-over par team total. 

Andrew Kaye was the low individual for the Vikings, finishing in a tie for 46th at 13-over par. Kaye carded a final round 78 which included an even par 36 on the front nine. 

David Laib, Brody Simms and Jack Hanus finished within one shot of each other for the tournament. Laib finished at 17-over par, good for a tie for 61st place. Simms finished in a tie for 64th at 18-over and Hanus was one shot behind at 19-over, finishing in a tie for 67th. Simms shot the low round of the day for the Vikings in the final round, a 4-over 76. 

Gunnar McCollins carded an 81 in the final round to finish in a tie for 79th at 22-over par. Mason Frazier also shot 81 in round three and finished in a tie for 88th at 27-over playing as an individual. 

The men's team will be back in action next week at the Butler Spring Invitational. The tournament is scheduled for March 27th and 28th.
