Cleveland State Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for 14th at Wexford Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, SC-The Cleveland State men's golf team finished in a tie for 14th place at the Wexford Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The tournament was the first of the spring season for the Vikings. Cleveland State carded a 314 (+26) in the final round to finish at 55 over par for the three-round tournament. 

Individually, Gunnar McCollins was the highest finisher for CSU. McCollins finished in a tie for 18th place at 5-over par for the tournament. He fired a 3-over 75 in round three, which included three birdies and an eagle. McCollins made 10 birdies in the 54 hole tournament and was one of seven golfers to card an eagle. 

Andrew Kaye closed with a 76 to finish at 13-over for the tournament and in a tie for 37th. Kaye finished with an even-par 36 on the front nine in the final round. Jack Hanus finished in a tie for 56th place at 16-over, ending his tournament with an 80 in the final round. 

Brody Simms and David Laib each shot 83 in the final round. Simms finished in a tie for 73rd at 21-over, and Laib ended in 85th place at 26-over par. 

The Vikings will return to the course on March 20th and 21st for the ECU Invitational in Greenville, NC.
