Cleveland State Men’s Golf Set To Open 2022 Fall Campaign

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's golf team will open its 2022 fall slate this weekend, participating in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State. 

The 54-hole event will take place on Friday, September 2 and Saturday, September 3 at the Delaware Country Club. The field will play 36 holes with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start on Friday, while the final round will consist of tee times starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Cleveland State will be one of 15 teams in the field this weekend, including Horizon League members Wright State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Oakland, IUPUI, and Northern Kentucky. 

The Vikings' lineup for the first weekend of the fall schedule will be; Gunnar McCollins, Mason Frazier, Jonny Filler, David Laib, and Jack Hanus

McCollins enters the 2022 fall season as Cleveland State's leading scorer, as he finished his junior campaign with a 75.3 scoring average on the year. Hanus posted a 75.6 scoring average last season, while Filler notched a 76.4 scoring average.

This weekend's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational will be the first of five tournaments this fall, including Cleveland State's home event – the Tom Tonitimonia Invitational (October 3-4).
