Men's Golf has lowest round of the Spring to conclude Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Cleveland State golf program posted some of its best individual rounds of the Spring season as the Vikings concluded the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee Tech, in eighth-place as a unit at the Sevierville Golf Club on Tuesday.

CSU improved three shots from the previous day of competition with a 289-team score. It was the lowest round posted by the Vikings so far this Spring. 

Jules Blakely led the way in a tie for 24thoverall as he posted rounds of 71 and 72 for a 1-under finish for the two-day tournament. He concluded competition with 23 pars and seven birdies. 

Zach Robbins (73, 72) and Jack Hanus (73, 73) were right behind as the two came in a tie for 27thand 32ndwith scores of one and two over.

Both Supelak and Hanus were one of just 24 student-athletes who recorded at least one eagle.

Gunnar McCollins (3-over 147) and Zak Supelak (nine-over 153) rounded things out for the Vikes in ties for 38thand 65th, respectively. Both had great second rounds as McCollins recorded an even par while Supelak posted a 1-over. McCollins wrapped up the tournament tied for 10thin birdies (nine) while Supelak saw the biggest jump for CSU on Day No. 2 with a 15-spot improvement from the opening day of action..

The Vikings will next hit the links with the Seattle Invitational that tees off on Monday, April 4.
