DAY ONE RESULTS (TWO ROUNDS – GOLFGENIUS)
ORLANDO – The Cleveland State men's golf team opened the Orlando Invitational with two solid rounds to sit in third place overall as the group competed at the Mission Inn Resort's El Campeon Golf Course on Monday.
Cleveland State, who as a unit shot nine over (293, 292) over the first two rounds, was led by Zach Robbins who sits in a tie for seventh at even after rounds of 73 and 71.
Jules Blakely (71, 77) and Jack Hanus (73, 75) are currently tied for 21stoverall at four over while Zak Supelak is right behind in a tie at 27that five over.
Gunnar McCollins rounded things out in a tie for 36that eight over.
"The guys executed their game plans today for the most part and played relatively well," director of golf Steven Weir said. "Our lineups were extremely balanced and everyone contributed which is nice to see."
David Laib (tied for 58th), Mason Frazier (T-58th) and Andrew Kaye (T-64th) also competed for the Vikings.
The Orlando Invitational is hosted on a par 72, 7,015-yard course.
"Planning on more of the same [play] tomorrow," Weir added. "And hoping to move up the leaderboard."
